Introduction

 

 

 

Design Problem: to design an underwater inspection system.

Our group's task is to design and build a low-cost, near surface ROV with a digital camera and control system connected to the vehicle via an umbilical cord.

Due to the popularity of this project a design constraint has been specified such that our sub has to be propelled forward in a biologically inspired manner. Side-to-side and buoyancy action, however, can be obtained via conventional methods.
